 Mass Wasting Vietnam as a whole is regarded as a high risk country when it comes to experiencing landslides. The reason for the country being at such high risk is due to rainfall patterns, geology, soil, land cover and earthquakes that are bound to happen that cause these landslides to happen in the country frequently. Not only that but in the Mountainous regions of Vietnam have experienced rainfall in just the past year of 2023 on August 2nd in which the country had heavy rainfall that lasted for many weeks. Due to the amount of rainfall this resulted in landslides occurring as well as floods. The event was monitored by (DG ECHO) which stands for the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Civil Aid Operations. They were keeping an eye on the Red Cross if they needed anymore assistance.
